Family Therapy

A Space for Your Family to Bloom

There is no such thing as the “Perfect Family” but you could have a healthy family! If you and members of your family are having a hard time discussing difficult topics, are facing challenges with navigating changes in the family, have experienced trauma, are struggling with a child(ren’s) behavior, or you’ve been feeling as though the family has become distant and you don’t know why, family therapy could be right for you guys.

These sessions are designed for 2 or more family members and are held virtually for your convenience. All participants must reside in Texas and be committed to consistently participating in family sessions. If this sounds like you, I invite you all to join The Blooming Space family. In this space, I will encourage each of you to be your authentic selves as we work together to accomplish your family’s therapeutic goals.

Sessions will be held virtually. You may book weekly or bi-weekly appointments, whichever works best for your family. Insurance is not accepted at this time, but a Super Bill can be provided to you for reimbursement from your insurance carrier. Check out the FAQ page to learn more about this.

I can help with:

  • Anxiety/PTSD

  • Family Transitions (divorce, blended family, career change, becoming a parent, etc…)

  • Intergenerational Trauma (Trauma passed down through the family, often called “generational curses” in some cultures.)

  • Communication and Conflict Resolution

  • Issues with parenting

  • Stress Management & Setting Healthy Boundaries

  • Re-Working Family Rules/Structure to be more beneficial to the family unit

  • Addressing issues with gender roles/norms and more…

I work with and welcome ALL types of families!

Step 1: Book a Session

Book a session by clicking on the “Work With Me” button on this site. Once your session is booked, I will send intake forms to you electronically. Intake forms must be completed and submitted prior to our first session. This will allow us to dive right into doing the work that’s meaningful to you. Also, I really want you to take your time and not feel rushed when completing the forms. The information that you provide me with will set the foundation for our work together.

Step 2: Our 1st Session

During our first session, I will use the information from your intake paperwork to guide me in further assessing your needs and creating a personalized treatment plan for you. I will also take some time to go over the Informed Consent for Treatment and will answer any questions that you may have about The Blooming Space’s policies. Just like any other relationship, you and I will spend a lot of time getting to know each other. I welcome you to bring all of the things into the therapeutic space that make you uniquely who you are!

Step 3: Your Therapy Journey

All of our sessions will be held virtually, weekly or bi-weekly. This will make it easier to prioritize our time together. During each session, we will continue to unpack your emotions, thoughts, and experiences. As we continue to pull back those layers, your journey will deepen and I will guide you in developing practical skills and coping strategies that will move you closer to your therapeutic goals.

We will work together during your journey. This means that your expertise on YOU is important to me! I believe that you have everything inside of you to BLOOM into the version of yourself that you want to be. To get you there, we will be collaborative partners. This means that I will frequently ask for your feedback to be sure that what we are doing is working for you. Based on your feedback, we will make adjustments to your treatment.

What does therapy look like?

Step 4: Termination

Once all of your therapeutic goals have been met, you’ve maintained progress, and you feel confident in your ability to continue using the tools and coping skills learned during therapy we will discuss terminating your therapy services. We’ll make sure that you have a plan in place for when things get really hard, we’ll review your strengths, and go over the therapeutic tools that work best for you. The length of time that it takes to get to the termination phase will vary from person to person, but my goal as your therapist is to get you to a place where you no longer need me! No doubt, I’ll miss working with you, but knowing that you are better is the ultimate prize. If you ever feel as though you need therapy again, you’re always welcomed to come back!

Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your mental health care will cost one day before your medical service. Under the law, mental health providers need to give patients who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services such as therapeutic services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your good faith estimate you can dispute the bill. For more questions or information about your right to Good Faith Estimate visit www.cms.gov/no surprises or call The No Surpises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
